Dawn of Hope, Thames, reports crosscutting the formation that came in on the footwall of the dropper has been engaged in with tho object of locating the footwall for value. A distance of 3ft has been driven into this reef formation ot quartz and although no gold has been seen it has a good appearance. As work proceeds it may prove to be the Golden Age reef. A small stope has also been carried over the drive on the dropper, and two loads have been sent to the School of Mines for treatment, the result being ooz lfidwt of gold, valued at about £27 10s. Golconda, Thames, reports main drive on the reef going towards slide advanced 3ft, total 166 ft from the shaft. The wall is nearly vertical, about 1 iv G, and the reef is turning to the north-cast,_ which should be its proper course. Not yet reached hangingwall iv the crosscut in that direction. The reef at this point is 13ft wide, with no hangingwall showing. This is a band of heavily-mineralised ore about ISm wide, close to the footwall. It has a very promising appearance for making values. Golden Dawn, Owharoa, reports otiNo. 3 level the drive north from winze No. 1 reef has been extended 12ft. The reel averages 12in, assay £2 0s 7d a ton. Ihe drive north on No. 3 reef from winze extended 12ft. The reef averages 12in wide, broken, and poor. On the intermediate level, the drive south on eastwall reef from crosscut advanced 24ft. The reef averages Win, assay £7 17» ■ 3d. On Farmer's level, after clearing drive to 357 ft level was found open for 400 ft, and a crosscut east has been started from the face. Stoping has been carried out on No 3 reef, north and south of winze, below No. 3 level 12in wide, assay £3 14s Od. On No. 1 reef north block 12in, assay value £4 17s 10(1: on eastwall branch reef north of winze No. 3 level 12in, value £11 ISs Gd; on eastwall branch, north and south of crosscut from old stopes, 14ui, assay £14 14s 9d; on eastwall branch reef, north and south of crosscut from intermediate level, 14in, assay. £3 los od a- ton.
