The lighthouse steamer Matai worked the Kahurangi light this morning. She is due back at Wellington tomorrow night.

SHIPS REACH AMERICA,

Tho Canadian Scottish, which left Lyttclton on June 22 for, New York, Boston,, and Montreal, arrived at New! York on August 3 and left on the same day for Boston. The Canadian Cruiser, which left Lyttelton on Juno 29, arrived at New York, on August 2 and left the following day for Boston, where she arrived last Friday. She left there again on Monday for Montreal.

CANADIAN BRITISHER LEAVES - MONTREAL.

The Canadian Britisher left Montreal last Friday en route for Auckland,' Wellington, and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland about September 13, and at Wellington an September 16. •
