WARRANT FOR ARREST
ACCUSED MAN DISAPPEARS
THREE THEORIES SUGGESTED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CIIRISTCHURCII, This Day. The polico arc anxious to locate Francis Henry Patterson. He left hisi homo at Papanui early yesterday, and has not been seen since, although he was bound in his own recognisance of £200 to appear in tho Polico Court this morning to faco twenty-six charges'of stealing bicycles and bicycle parts involving £64 15s in all.- Patterson is described as a cycle dealer, 54 years of age. Three theories to account for his non-appearance were put before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., either that he had dona away with himself, had suffered a lapse of memory, or had just .cleared out. A warrant for Patterso.ii's arrest was issued, tho Magistrate 'Stating that 'steps might have to be taken to -estreat the recognisance. Counsel for the accused, said that he had had no idea that this sort of thing might happen, though the man had appeared to be emotional when he visited' counsel's office last-week.
