CO-ORDINATION NEEDED

The annual report of the -Hew Zea-. land Ked Cross Society draws attention to the need of a -systom of coordination in social work in order •to obtain the best results.from many pub-lic-spirited efforts and to avoid wasteful overlapping of work:
"There appears to be a very distinct likelihood of many organisations being, set up in New.Zealand all working along fairly similar lines. Although appreciating tho genuine dosire to do good behind all these efforts':thoro certainly, does appear to' bo th'e:nccd for. a study; of the existing organisations-and :s6me co-ordinated plan for the' work in' the future, othorwise there will undoubtedly bo overlapping, a waste, of public money in tho maintenance of several organisations doing similar work, and, perhaps, in tho long run, detrimental results to those whom we arc all endeavouring to serve,", the . report states.
