TREASURY BILLS
LIABILITY TRANSFERRED
As the result of a transaction carried out last week, the Government's liability for Treasury bills, amounting to ' approximately -£22,000,000, has been transferred from , the six trading banks of the Dominion to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Amounts owing by the Government to the various trading banks have been placed to the credit .of those banks-at the Reserve Bank, this relieving the Government of aheavy burden of interest, amounting to over & 1,000,000 per. annum. . . .
