"Non-Brilliant" states that tha argument advanced by "Wake Up New Zealand" (that higher positions in the Public Service should bo open to outside competition) was previously raised in Christchurch and effectively replied to by the Public Service Commissioner (Mr. Verschaffelt). The correspondence, was published at length in the "Public Service Journal," which "Wake Lp New Zealand" should read.
"Old Player and Regular Patron," whiio acknowledging the rvork done by busy officials of the Rugby Union, suggests that ono matter should receive attention. Patrons of the- stand at the universities match had the pleasure of a goocl game marred by the disturbance caused by schoolboys in gangs. One official, the. <'.orresp'dndont asserts, could have stopped the nuiso and disorder.
