HATAITAI PARK

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I would like to suggest to the Wellington City Council to have' tho hills overlooking this reserve stepped or terraced, so as to provide unique and convenient grandstands from which sports may be viewed. Nature provided this city with- too many hills, but in this case they could, form a very useful purpose. I ,havc only to refer to the stepped hills in New Plymouth Park to prove what1 a beautiful and useful use- they can be put to. I would likewise suggest where batters are cut that they be much more sloping to prevent unsightly ero- j sions, not to also overlook the danger i to children and others who may venture too near their edges. —I am, etc., I , RIENZI.
