ANNUAL REPORT
■The annual-report of.the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, The Terrace, to be presented at the ninety-fourth : annual meeting on Thursday, states that although tho indications of returning prosperity recorded in tho last report continue, the prevailing winter was attendant -with much distress and want to those who were on relief work or wholly unemployed. At the beginning of the church year 394 members were on the roll. During the eight months covered by the report twenty-sis new members were admitted, 20 being by certificate and six by profession of faith, while 43 were removed by disjunction and other causes. The membership now'stood.'at 377., Qujte.a large, number of communicants were/at present abroad or living outside Wellington, and their names were placed oh aV.snppl.e-; mentary . roll during their, absence/ The average attendance at communion was 313,; as compared with 315 in the corresponding: period last year". The. Rev. ,R. J. Howie accepted a call to Malvern, Melbourne and pending the sending of a-callto-fill 'the vacancy, the Rev. T. Tait, -M.A., 8.D,,! was conducting the services, and the at-; tendances at worship on the Sabbath werej most encouraging.. A selection committee; in connection witli the call had been at ■work for the past few months, and the; maitter would como up at the annual meet-; ing. The financial position was improving.; A rest and recreation: room "for -unem.'. ployed men was being,run- jointly with1 the Terrace Congregational Church. : ' ■
