BUTTER TO DUTCH EAST INDIES
According to the Australian Department of Commerce imports of tinned butter into the Netherlands East Indies during 1933 amounted to 112.914cwt, of which Australia supplied 102,964cwt, valued in Australian currency at approximately £474,000. The balance of 9418cwt was obtained from Holland. In 1932, out of a total of 09,970cwt of tinned butter imported into the Netherlands East Indies,' Australia sent 06,700cwt, and Holland 2870cwt. Imports of Australian origin fell from 96.7 per cent, of the total in 1932 to 01.2 per cent, in 1933, whereas imports from Holland rose from 2.9 per cent, in 1932 to 8.3 per cent, in 1933. Imports of butter into the Netherlands East Indies are mostly confined to tinned butter, as the total imports of packet butter in 1933 only amounted to 4378cwt, of which Australia supplied 3865 cwt.. . . . .
