KNIFE IN HIS BRAIN

For over fifteen years' an inhabitant of Rochester, New York, carried a. knifo blade in his brain without knowing it. Recently severe headaches and. lameness in one leg led him to Seek medical aid. A specialist detected an abnormal condition of. the eye. on'the side opposite'to the liniio leg, suspected a brain abscess, and took an X-ray picture, which showed the knife blade in. the brain. A fine scar was then found on his scalp. Removal of the blade by eurgical operation resulted in the patient's complete . recovery. PArange'ly enough, the patient was not only ignorant of tho blade's being in his brain, but did not even remember ever suffering a head injury. A possible explanation is that the blade entered hii, brain at the time of a war injury.
