BIG FIRE IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, July 16. A four-storey building in ■William. Street, in the city, was gutted today by fire. The building, - which was occupied by Mac Retreads, contained large stocks of motor tires and miscellaneous rubber stocks, and made a spectacular blaze. Dense black smoke and pungent fumes Rpread over the. city and attracted thousands of people. " The damage amounted to many thousands of pounds. '
