"DAILY MAIL" STORY VARIED

LONDON, July 16.

The Chief Constable at Brighton states that the head and arms of the victim of the first trunk murder, contrary to the "Daily Mail's" report, have not been found and apparently the second body has no connection with the" first, found in a : trunk. The body fouud in the trunk in Kcinp Street has been identified as that of Yiolette Kaye. ' :

He is well known in West End cafes. '

The history of the crime is one of tho most peculiar in criminal records. Tho police, during the month,' have visited almost every apartment-house in Brighton. The owners of the Kemp Street house, Mr. * and Mrs. Barnard, recently decided to have the house repainted. The painter detected an.unpleasant smell, and conimunicated with the police, who for several days kept a watch, including a vain night-long vigil last night.

It is thought that the man was aware that tho house T was watched and' did not return. Tho police discovered letters and correspondence which may provide valuable clues. They believe that Miss Kaye died first, and the ttnidentified woman, knowing the manner of Miss Kayo's death, may have paid the pmwltv of her knowledge.
