PIKE- BRIGADE SERVICE
SUPERINTENDENT HONOURED

TAURANGA, This Day. In recognition of twenty-fivo years 1 service with the. Tauranga Firo Brigade, a large gathering of firemen, local body officials, and citizens last night presented Superintendent J. R. Padlie with the twenty-five years 3 gold star from tho United Firo Brigades' Association, a gold medallion froij) the Tauranga Borough Council, and an illuminated address from tho local Fire Board and brigadesmen.
The gold star was presented by Mr. B. C. Robbins, also a holder of tho star, who heartily congratulated Superintendent Padlie, and also paid him a tribute for the valuable services he had rendered to Taurauga over suoh a long period. ' ■
The Mayor, Mr. A. F. Tunks, in presenting the medallion, also spoke- of Mr. Padlie's meritorious service.
Trophies won by brigadesmen during the year, wove then presented.
