VICTIM BOUND AND GAGGED
SYDNEY, July 16. An Italian, John Lindo, told a seasational story to. the police today, declaring that thieves broke into his cottage at Camperdown, close to the city, bound and gagged him, ransacked his bedroom, and decamped with £139 the proceeds of the sale of his mixed business.
Detectives found Lindo in a great state of agitation. When they arrived they were unable to enter owing to Lindo brandishing a meat .chopper. Finally they, were able to convince him that they were police officers.
