DAMAGED BY LIGHTNING
' Advice has been received ■ by' the Marine Department at Wellington that the radio receiver -at the Puysegur Point lighthouse, at tho south-western extremity of the South Island,-has been damaged beyond repair by lightning.-A new receiver will be sent to the Point by the Government steamer Matai which is now making a tour ■of southern lighthouses. It is expected that the new apparatus will be installed in. about a.fortnight's time. The transmitter at the Puysegur Ppint light was undamaged by-the lightning.
