A . TUNNEL'S VENTS
Puffs of smoke, issuing mysteriously from vents at the top of Shakespeare Cliff, England, indicate to those who know the secret that a train is passing underground. Wiien a railway line was built between Folkestone and Dover an open cut proved impracticable at this point. A tunnel was built instead, and the odd ventilators were provided so that steam trains could pass through it without filling it with smoke.
