Grand National Steeplechase Meeting at Ptemiiißton on Saturday the following was the result of the GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE. £2300; about 3 miles.and a furlong. Wqodlae.e, 9.10 (Fullarton) .'. .• 1 Reddilch, 12.7 (Hynes) ...... 2 Copperfleld, 9.7 (McEae) 3 Also started: Precocious 10.9, The Cracksman 10.3, Trafalable 9.10, Boy Blue 9.7, Ground Swell 9.0. . , Woodlacc provided, in early Uirill by stumbling shortly after the start. Precocious fell a little later, after which Iteddltch took the lead closely followed by Woodlace. Cracksman then fell. Six ; furlongs from - home Rcdditeh was about two lengths clear of Wdodlace, nnd 20 lengths further back came Copperfleld, Boy Blue, and Trafalable. The two latter came to grief half.a mile from home. Woodlace then rail past Redditeh, whose weight was beginning to toil, and won comfortably .by six lengths. Ground Swell was the only other runner to finish. Time, 6min ll^see. Fuilartou, the rider of Woo<flace, who Is a South Australian horsa, said he had a lucky, ride. He Bearly came down going out of the straight owing to Ground Swell comiug back on him. Then a mile from home Woodlace ran through a brush fence, and it was a miracle how.he survived. .. • ■ , > ■■.. . . . Trafalable broke a foreleg when he fell and was destroyed. ' ' ' ■ . ■ .
