COMPENSATION CLAIM
SETTLED OUT OF COURT
Compensation for injuries suffered iv an accident during the course of his employment were- claimed by Jack Rowe, a porter of a Nelson hotel who fell from a stepladder. Henry Richard Duncan, proprietor of. the Commercial Hotel, Nelson, was the defendant. Since tho accident the ■ plaintiff • has romaincd totally disabled.
Before Mr. Justico Blair in the Arbitration Court, counsel announced that a settlement had been reached.
The plaintiff had received compensation at the rate of £2 5s 8d per week from the date of the accident on November 21, 1932, to September 6, 1933. The terms of the settlement provided for payment of £2 5s 8d per week up to Juno 21, 1934, and disability for the remainder of the period 'was assessed at 29 per cent. The plaintiff received in all £231.
Mr. P. J. O'Regan appeared for the plaintiff and Mr. W. E. Leicester for tho defendant.. ~~
