TIME TRIAL CONTEST
The Poneke Amateur Cycling Club -<witt hold a 22 miles' time trial tomorrow,afternoon, starting at'2,3o p.m. frbmSalek Street, Kilbirnie. In this,type1 of raca the competitors set off at; one-minute intervals, each having to ride unpaced: tha .whole distance. - It is by tljis ijnethpd that the cycle events are decided at the Olympic Games, the reason being that it; is-.* fairer "way of judging individual'effort. The race will be over two laps of the Breaker Bay Cutting course, the route being from. Salek Street along Rongbtai,. do'wVKingsford Smith Street, along.the coast, passing Moa Point, then- through.-the-cutting ,to Seatoun. . From there the .riders continue past Wovser'Bay to Point Halswell, Shelly Bay, and finish at the Miramar Wharf after doing two laps.
