_ The annual ball of the United, Services Club is. always a popular <and enjoyable function, and that, held last night was uo exception. Everything that goes to make a successful and happy evening hod been thought of. Kirkcaldie and Stains -reception rooms were gay with flowers /and bunting, and small tables with apple green covers were arranged cabaret .fashion around the dance floor. The diversity of uniforms among the crowS of dancers iinade a particularly bright, scene. The lounge, with its easy chairs and sofas, and lovely bowls of green leaves, was i a delightful place for sitting out, and the cool drinks and ice cijeams provided there proved very popular. A delicious supper w.-as served in the Jacobean room where 'Iceland poppiesdecorated the long tabVes. An excellent orchestra provided the . dance music!
