CHARGE OF RECEIVING
JEWELLER REMANDED

CHBISTCHURCH, This Day. Before Mr. E. D. . Mosley, S.M., Thomas Hornsby, a jeweller, was charged with receiving on May 28 from Eonald Dempsoy Crook a lady's diamond ring valued at £.30, the property of Henrietta Murphy, knowing that it had been dishonestly obtained.
The police said that tho accused was well known in the city and had been in court before in connection with offences under the Second-Hand Dealers Act. Thoy urged that bail be sustantial.
The accused was remanded until June 7, bail being, fixed at £200 and one surety of £200.
. The case is a sequel to. an alleged robbery at Colonel Murphy's house at Fendaltpn.
