AFRICAN VETERANS
N.Z-.M.R "BULLETIN"
The'fifty-fifth number .of the "Bulletin" of the ' First New . Zealand. Mountad Rifles Association was .issued last week. • The "Bulletin" is .a valuable agency in .assisting to maintain the links 'between the comrades of New 'Zealand's first overseas war activity; Lthe South African War, -1899-1901. After so long a passage of time, the unity of the "South African veterans" is remarkably preserved, and their annual reunion in October is generally recognised as one of the events of the. year. The "Bulletin" is filled with chatty information about -the doings of members of the association. There are ,a number of interesting articles too, one of which draws comparisons between the hardships suffered by the troop 3 in the South Afripan War and the Great. War. Altogether the number is a very creditable production.
