The committee which organised the recent Red Cross ball at Lower Hutt will meet tonight to approve the balancesheet, which shows a net profit of £88 14a. • This amount will be divided ' equally between the Lower Hutt'branch ,of the Red Cross .Society and the Mayor's Relief Committee!. ' ' '.', ~.
The careful manner in which, the hall was organised and the- amount of voluntary assistance which was forthcoming are referred to .in the balance-sheet, which shows that the expenses were only; £12 3s—printing; and advertising £2 10s, lighting £4 15s, antTotner expenses"£4'lßß lOd. The receipts were: Sale of tickets £95 145," donations £2 3sV6d, and from other sources £3 Oa 4d, making a total of £10a 17s lOd.
