"A REAL TREAT"
ST. JOSEPH'S ORPHANAGE
The big family-of children at St. Joseph's Orphanage, Upper Hutt, had a wonderful time on Sunday last, when in the afternoon some- friends arrived in a big van to give tho little ones a concert to. which ,was added gifts of sweets, .etc, in fact a real treat for them all. v
Each of the items of the varied programme was heartily encored, and at the conclusion the convener thanked the performers, also Mr. Johnston, and all tho good Petonc friends. JECe (Mr. Lavin) pointed out that this was tho last concert for the season, and said tho children had. been very generously treated during the summer by kind city friends. . ' . ..."■■■•
A special vote of thanks to Mr.Lansdowne ("Charlie") was enthusiastically passed.
Afternoon tea was served in the big refectory, after which the children gavq the party a cheering farewell as they drove away.
