LADIES' AUXILIARY
The ladies' auxiliary of. the Boys'lnstitute held their annual meeting recently. There was a good attendance of members.
>The annual report stated that the (depression, unemployment amongst the boySj'and the low wages received, had made the strictest economy necessary. Nevertheless, the work done by the boarding establishment had had very satisfactory results. The health of tho boys had been excellent throughout the year, and the condition of the homo and the evidence of the attention given to the boys by the staff; wore very gratifying to the committee^ who gave unstintingly of their-time in their,efforts to further the work of this branch of the institute's activities. - -
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Hon. president, Mrs. L. T. Watkins (re-elected); president, Mrs. J. Hislop (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Mesdames G. Eemington, Sol Myers, T. Kemp, and Miss Gilchrist; buying committee, Mrs. A. Wilson and Mrs. G. D. Talbot; executive, Mesdames W. I.- McCallum, Sol Myers, T. Kemp, and Mrs. J. Hislop; hon. treasurer, Mrs. T. Kemp (re-elected); representatives, to management, Mesdames J. Hislop, W. I. McCallum, and A. Wilson.
1 A farewell was given to Mrs. L. T. Watkins, who was granted eighteen months' leave of absence, which will be spent on holiday abroad.
