During: yesterday cloudy conditions prevailed/along the east coast-with showers or misty rain1 In places: and; fresh southerly winds, while elsewhere the weather was mainly fine.- By this morning, .however, it had become fine practically generally and winds more variable,: but a strong north-easterly accompanied by showers was reported at Cape Maria van Dlemen. at • 9 a.m. ' Milder temperatures were also in evidence this morning. An anticyclone now covers New Zealand/whlle pressure has remained relatively low across the northern Tasman Sea. ■ ~:
