AERO ENGINES FOR GERMANY

It is learned that the French Ambassador sought an explanation from the British Government respecting recent German orders given to British firms for SO aeroplane engines, and received the reply that the Government always sought to discriminate between engines intended for military arid civil use. . ■;■■.-■
Such discrimination was difficult in practice, especially in the case of a State disclaiming possession of any military aeroplanes. It was impossible in peace time to ban exports ostensibly commercial in character.
