WELLINGTONIAN'S SUCCESS

Two professional boxing contests of tert three-minute rounds were staged in the Civic Theatre by the Southland Boxing Association, this evening, there being * ,very large. attendance. In the beavj weight contest, Mamica Strickland (T2>t 101b), of AVelhngton, dffeatcd Yul Luttiell (12st Ulbl, of Hayings, on a technical knock-out •in the tenth round after the latter had been do-n a for a count of nine.
A light-heavyweight bout between Say >.icol (12st 21b), o£ Ohai, and HarryLister (list 101b), of Greymouth, was won' by .Nicol on points, the winner leadin-» practically all the way. It was the third meeting of the pair, Nicol having won each time.
