DRUIDS' ORDER.

Pacific Lodge.—A.D. Bro. E. Ketko presided over a large attendance. Abel acted as M.C. during the presentation. Alter the lodge had closed Pacific and Pride of Brooklyn Lodges held a combined social, members from all lodges in the local'districts attending to do honour to Bros. Bray and Taylor. The following toasts were proposed: "The King" and the Druids, by the chairman, Bro. E. KetkoGrand Lodge,"- by Bro. W. Hearn (replied to by Bro. F. Mawhinney); "The Crtiest of the Evening, Bro. Bray" by Bro. Taylor; "Newly Installed District .President, proposed by Bro. Bray (replied to ■ by Bro. Taylor); "Royal Arch Chapter, by Bro. Mawhinney (replied to by Bro. Gauntlett, P.R.A.D.); "Our Visitors, by Bro. Abel (visitors from lodges assembled, replied); "Artists and Stewards,' 'by Bro. Taylor (replied to by Bros. G. Hearn and F. Wakeling). Items were given by Bros. Hall, Edmonds, Smith, G. Hearn, and Pope. Bro. Gilbert Hearn presided at the piano. Royal Arch Chapter.—R.A.D. Bro. B. Bray presided over a large: gathering of Druids. Degrees were conferred in both the A.D. and S. degrees. The result of the ritual competition was announced, placing Pacific Lodge in pride of place. Pride of .Brooklyn Lodge was second, and Excelsior Lodgfi third. The judges, Bros. J. R. 1-aylor and H. Willis, gave their reports, and were accorded a vote of thanks. The election of officers resulted as follows-— Bro. B. Bray, D.P. president; Bro. G Blackwell, R:A.D.; Bro. A. Ketkoj R.V.A.D.; Bro. H. Abel. P.D.P.; secret tai'y, Bro. J. R. Taylor; R.1.G., Bro. T. Bray and present and past officers spoke in glowing terms of the splendid records of the chapter meetings. Bro. Bray and Bro. J. Accounts totalling £74 Is lid were passed Six members of subordinate lodges were advanced to tile Degree.of Friendship by the Degree Master, Bro. A. Evans. Bro i. J. Lee was elected a trustee. Reports were received Regarding term installations and official visits, unemployed members' tund district cribbage, five-hundred, and membership shields, term' ritual competitions, annual district ball, 'and recent anniversary church parade. The D.D.G.M announced official visits to subordinate lodges during May, also one to Wairarapa district ?' \ Smith was deputed to organise a team to demonstrate initiatory ritual on an appropriate occasion. Bro. G. F. Rudkin, G.W., announced that a meeting of i? ra,. Lodge executive would be held in Wellington about the end of the month, when a conference of lodge secretaries with the grand secretary would be arranged.

Zealandia.. Lodge.—Bro. G. Steel. X.G., presided over a good attendance. Visitors included, the D.D.G.M., Bro. R. Mathers, officers of District Lodge, and Bro. G. F. Rudjdn, G.W. Six members were reported on the sick list. The following officers were installed by the D.D.G.M.—I P G Bro. G. Steel; KG., Bro. F. In'gham; v.G., Bro. P. Fifield; recording secretary, Bro. C. C. F. -Malecek;; L.S.S., Bro. G. A. Wilson; R.S.N.G.; Bro. E. A. S. Rountree; L.S.N.G., Bro. F. Reilly; R.S/V.G., Bro. W. P. Duff; L.S.V.G., Bro. W. H. Holmes; 1.G., Bro. H. W. Guyton; 0.G., Bro. J. O. Josling. Various committees for the term were also .apopinted. The three Grand' Lodge representatives, Bros. Rudkiu, Jones, and Lee, reported on the work done at the recent Grand Lodge session. .

Onslow Lodge.-^Bro. 0; W. A. Pedersen, N.G., presided over a small attendance. One brother was reported to be still on the sick list. Relative sick pay and other accounts were passed for payment. An application for membership was received from a new candidate, and an old member applied to rejoin the lodge.

Ngati-toa Lodge.—Bro. J. Herlihy, N.G., presided "over a good attendance. One new member was initiated. A challenge from Wildey Lodge for the Bradley Memorial Cribbage .-Shield was accepted. Bro. Hughes, captain of the card team, reported that he was n9t able to present the shield to the lodge owing to his team playing a drawn game. '....' i Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge.—! Sister Iris Weddersppon presided over a large gathering. Four candidates were initiated. The resignation of Sister Pedlar as financial secretary having been accepted with regret, Sister G. E. Collins was appointed to that position and Sister M. Flaws to that of recording secretary. Official visits were paid by Bro. R. J. Mathers. C.P., and members of Port Nicholson Encampment, district officers, and Bro. Bargh, D.D.G.M., of the Hutt Valley distiiet. At the close of the meeting a social and dance was held. GRAND UNITED ODDFELLOWS. Loyal Ryde Branch.—Sister Wiffin presided over a good attendance. The usual routine business was disposed of and the meeting concluded with community singing. ■ . ■ . •

During the past year the following members of the libraries staff of the City Council were successful in passing the Library Association's >examinations: Library organisation, cataloguing, and Spanish, Miss R. C. Reid, M.A.; elementary. Misses I. H. Burge, I. L. Flemmine, K. H. Harvey, M. C. Kissel, and Mr. J. 0. Wilson. .
