SHANGHAI, May 9, Determined to stamp out the opium evil and all forms of drug 'dealing, Chiang Kai-Shek has issued an order that all Provincial Governments and military organisations give warning that all persons found engaged in the manufacture, transport, or sale of nar j cotics will receive capital punishment. Chiang is prepared to go to any lengths to enforce the order, since fines and imprisonment are of little avail. : He claims' that there are 200,000 known, opium addicts in the Kiangsu Province alone. He: aims at total sud-i pression. in that province within six years by striking directly at the persons conducting the trade in narcotics.
