SUSPICIOUS FIRE
APPLE STORE DESTROYED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day,
A fire in Langdon's Eoad, near Papanui, at S o'clock last evening destroyed an apple store and its contents owned by Mr. G. Illingworth, who estimates that he has suffered a total loss of £1000.
The building was insured for £250 in the A.P.A. Office.
How the fire originated is not known, but Mr. Illingworth is certain that it was done deliberately. He passed the shed at 7 o'clock and heard a rattling of boxes in a corner. The fact that the firo began in the same corner led him to believe that .it was not accidental.
