"BE COURTEOUS AND ALERT"
(BrtUsfl Official Wireless.) . BUGBY, March 28. The campaign, for road safety, which is being .conducted by the National Safefy. First Association, was opened today by the issue of a letter from the Duke of York, patron of tha association. ■■•' -•■■-'..■■ ■ ■ ■.-■
The letter, in. poster form, is to appear on 30,000 hoardings, and says: "Every day 600 citizens are killed or injured on British roads, mostly because, ofi somebody's" To avoid accidents be -courteous and alert. Givo special consideration to the aged, infirm, and,very.young.,..The highwayJeode is thpfcbde of good-road manners. Let us all loyally observe it and make: a.spirit of good will the keynote of bur behaviour on .the roads."
