PIGEON RACING
The fourth flock race for young birds of the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society was flown from-Waiouru, 134 miles airline. The pigeons were liberated by the,railway officials in good weather.' The race .resulted in a great difference in time being registered by the placed birds, and it is evident the,birds became scattered, evidently by fog. The first bird's timed iv were several minutes ahead. The following are the first eight'birds timed in: — -Murphy and Sherwood's Terraplane, 3hr 3/miu oOsce; F. Couper and Son's All fepirit, 3hr 3Sniin 7sec;Dr. Gillies's Her Majesty. 3hr 42min 37sec; C. Webster and fcon s Flash Lady, 3hr 53miii 34sec: 0 Harness Lady Buller, 3hr 53min 37see- J Pcrrett's IJed Sunset, flhr 13min 41sec;B Clements's Scotty., 4hr 31min IGsee- C Eggintoii's Blue Boy, alir 6min 54sec. The nominated bird pool was won by T. Cooper and (son,- with Murphy and Sherwood second. ■'■■■■. .
