ULIMAROA SOLD
SCRAP FOR JAPANESE
LONG RECORD OF SERVICE
Sold scrap-metal to the Japanese, the popular old intercolonial , steamer Ulimaroa has made her "last voyage .to New Zealand. Although that voyage was made approximately two years ago, the news of the vessel's sale to shipbreakers will recall pleasant memories to many thousands of travellers, and to ship-lovers in general. For more than twenty years the Ulimar,oa was engaged in the intercolonial service, and during that time she completed more than 400 round trips without a mishap. Always associated with the memory^ of the TJlimaroa will be,, Captain W. J. Wyllie, who had command of' her. continuously, except for short'periods of leave, the chief officer, Mr. Jones, and the chief steward, Mr.-' F. Stone.
