OBITUARY
VISCOUNT NOVAR
(Received March 31, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 30. The death has occurred of Lord iXovar, a former Governor-General of Australia. Their Majesties the King and Queen sent messages to Lady Novar expressing sympathy at the close of a long and distinguished career.
The late Viscount Novar was Gov-ernor-General and Commander-in-Chief of Australia from 1914 to 1920. He also had an extensive political career, having been Lord of the Treasury in 1894, Secretary for Scotland during 1922-24, and chairman of the Political Honours Beview Committee in 1925.
