In the House of Commons replying to Mr. Harcourt Johnstonc's request for a. statement regarding New Zealand's offer of a free tariff on British goods in return for a ; free unlimited entry of New Zealand products into Britain Mr. J. H. Thomas, Dominions Secretary, said that no such offer had been made. Mr. Johnstone was probably Tef erring to recent correspondence on the question of dairy produce. ■ Mr» Percy Harris (L.): Is the Government prepared to give a. free market, if the offer is made? Mr. Thomas: You can understand what my answer is when you read it.
