MEETING OF CHAMPIONS

PROSPECTS FOR SATURDAY

-• : (Special to the "Evening Post.") , CHKISTCHURCH, This Day. , There is every prospect of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Autumn "Meeting, 1934, being the most memorable in the annals o£ the light-harness sport .in-jSTew Zealand. The wisdom of the officials in arranging two invitation match races is in keeping with the progressive policy they have always pursued, hence the high standard which the sport enjoys today. The course is in-perfect order. Apart from ihe special invitation vace, the meeting hag attracted great fields. The other Australian visitor, Auburn Lad, has made a big impression, and it will surprise many of the sound judges of the sport if he fails to win one of th* principal events. ;The club went back to the single-pool system of betting for its -meeting last month, and this system will again operate, with :two dividends in fields of six or more starters.
