FLOCK HOUSE
POSITION IMPROVED
An improvement in the state of affairs! at Flock House was reported by the secretary of the Wellington Flock House Committee (Mr. H. 0. Leach) in a-later to the executive of the Wellington lieturned Soldiers' Association,, whiuh met last evening. The, letter1 acknowledged the receipt of a cheque, tor £20 8s lOd from the association, and expressed pleasure at the association's decision to renew its agreement with the Wellington Flock House Committee .for a further two years. "I am very pleased to inform you that, since January 31 last, there, had been a great improvement in the state of affairs at Flock Hou.se/' stated Mr. Leach. "Within the last eight weeks" the various interested bodies have sent eighteen trainees to Flock House, .and an additional two are to go forward within the next few days, so that within a week there will bo sixty-seven lads in Flock House, and"we hope that, despite the delay of three months at the commencement .of the year in reinstating the Government subsidy, we shall be able to increase the number to seventy, by the end of the second year of the scheme, as at Ivtareh 31, 1934." Mi-; Leach also stated that his committee had again . filled' its quota, and since January had sent three more trainees to-Flock House,' bringing the total since } the commencement, of the scheme to 21 boys, out of a quota of-nine per annum, so, that they had exceeded their obligations by- three boys. • . ' . . "That is very gratifying." commented a member.- ....
