Tiy the ': Lower Hut't Keel Cross branch. ■ The expenditure on. new goods was. ; £lsS lis lid, and the receipts totalled £64 13s 4d. Mrs. J. Mitchell, stated, at the annual meeting that the special fund of £10 10s, which has been set aside, was not •a reserve,' ljiit ;ui emergency fund, to lie drawn upon in the ease of a disaster such as an earth-quake, fire, or flood. The following donations were received during the year:—An invalid chair (from Mrs. Wollarid); £4 3s Gd from Miss Nancy Williams, being the proceeds of a sale held .by the Piata kindergarten .pupils; £1 19s 4d from the ; AVanyetu School Committee (being half the proceeds from a concert); £5 from Messrs. . Geo. H. Scales, X,td. Gifts and assistance were acknowledged from Waiwetu Methodist Ladies' Guild, the Kia, Hiwi Club, Chilton Association, the- Hutt Valley Higli School girls, and from Edm'eades and Macaskill. The- report also thanked Mr. W. P. Williams and Mr. Tosswill for much valued assistance. ' -..-'■ Special thanks were accorded to Mrs." Upton and Miss Draper for organising the. "Hikers' " concert in aid of the District, Nurse ,!Pund .-and obtaining£3o 2s 3d thereby. £3 was collected by Mrs. Fraseiy Cuba Street. The receipts' for the year were £197 11s 3d, the principal items being donations £14 5s Id, subscriptions £9 2s, lied Cross ball £52 10s. movie ball £25, sale garments £64 13a 4d, and donations.to District Xursc Fund £13 Ss. The principal items of expenditure were £158 lls lid for material and ganrients,- £.o- 12s 6rt\ for printing and advertising, and. £2 towards fare; of child from. Russia.
