RIFLE SHOOTING
The Karon Club will five the second stage of the Willoughby Cup competition at Trentham on Saturday .ifteruoon. This competition is fired in three stages, the first and third stages comprising the service matches of. the -National Rifle Association's programme, and the second stasre the musketry couvse laid down, iv the defence regulations. The annual Farmers' Union rifle shooting match for the Colonial Ammunition Company's Shield is to be fired on Wednesday, April IS. ov Saturday, April 21. states "The Post's" Carterton correspondent. Each provincial team will fire on a range in its own. district. The ranges will be 300. 500,'•■ and 600 yards, seven shots to be. fired at each range, with two compulsory sighters not to count. Gold medals will be presented Vi the winning team, and one to the highest scorer outside the winning team. Wnirn-l-npa lost the shield in last year's competition on a technical point. The district had held it for a number'of years.
