ODDFELLOWS' PICNIC

The annual picnic of the Wellington District of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows proved a very successful function. Members and friends were, taken ,to the Hutt Racecourse in buses. There was a lengthy sports programme. Representatives of Loyal -Central and-Loyal. -William Bain Lodges pulled in the final of the tug-of-war for the shield, members of the Matter lodge securing the decision.'The shield, which is the trophy, in the tug-of-war event, was ' presented by Bro. R.: A. Couper, district trustee, and a member, of Loyal Central Branch. Star of Lower Hutt Branch retained the relay shield. Bro. Platt (Lower Hutt) won the men's championship, and Sis. E.
