WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE

The body of a■" woman which was talien. from. the harbour this morjiing, has been identified as that of Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Eidout, a married woman> aged 52. Constable H. McNamara, of the Petone Police, found a -woman's coat-and shoes near the steps on the Petone "Wharf at 7.45 a.m. today, and at B'a.m. he found the body floating near the rocks 100 yards south of the railway crossing at the western cntrancel to Petone. The deceased was housekeeper to Mr. Charles Cicely, of 109 Nelson Street, Petone.

At the inquest this afternoon; before the Coronpr (ilr. Gilbcrtson) a verdict was returned of suicide by drowning.
