IMPROVED OUTLOOK
MR. COATES'S OPINION
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) •' . AUCKLAND,;This Day.~:; ', "Our outlook today :is • definitely better than it-was twelve months ago," said the Minister of Finance (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates),.opening the annual conference of the New Zealand Justices of the Peace Association this morning. He said that conditions were, difficult, but he thought everyone could feel that something.was moving. Improved prices for wool and meat .. were' benefiting.the South Island, but dairy farmers, particularly in the north, were experiencing a most difiieult time. The question of assistance would . always have-to come back to the Government. Encouraging prospects were the improvement in the apple-growing and pigraising industries. The world position definitely was brighter' than it was a year ago.
