RATEPAYERS' INTERESTS
EASTBOURNE ASSOCIATION
The first annual 'report of the'East-i bourne Ratepayers' Association states | that the association has endeavoured to keep tho ratepayers' interests before the council, and at various times has made suggestions to which the council has always given sympathetic consideration. It was clear from this that the association was recognised' by tho council as a,body representing those to whom the borough belongs, and who wore in the main responsible for the financing of all borough undertakings. Not one committee meeting was held without the need for approaching the council on one matter or another coming up. At least two representatives of the committee attended each regular meeting of the council during the year. The committee of the association requests all present members to renew their membership, and all ratepayers who have not''enrolled to do so at the first opportunity. The present financial membership was eighty-one, and it was hoped that next year it would reach 150. Tie financial year showed a credit jbalance of £4 7s lOd.
