Sargoods, with- a drawn game, .last Saturday, maintain their position 'at, the head of the A grade, while Cowans haye Nmanaged to draw level with-* win over Gas Co, Sargoods Vivill: be back to their full strength, from now; on and on present indications they will be fairly hard to dispose, of in the A grade. ' . ■ ■ :'. ■ ' ' Shipping and State Advances both won .their games on Saturday and are still level at the top! of the B grade. The position will probably remain-the same until these two team? meet next Saturday) when the virtual final, will be fought out. ' By their defeat of Customs last week Government Printing now lead: the C grade with Tauljmans second and Customs third. The competition- between these three sides and Justice-Depart-ment should provide ':an . interesting final, . A v. B and C v. D «od E on Anniversary Day. It was also decided to endeavour to arrange a game for the representative side which played in Auckland. The recent game in Auckland with.the City, and Suburban Association has opened up a wide field of activities ■. in. the League and a special meeting is.to be held during the next, fortnight .in. order to discuss special reports. which have; been submitted. ..The outcome of these deliberations is likely to prove highly in)cresting to Mercantile League plnycjrs and supporter^.
