MOMENTOUS RULING
EMERGENCY LAWS VALID
NEW YORK, January 8. The United States, Supreme Court, by a vote of 5 Judges to 4, upheld the validity of the emergency relief legislation.
Although "the decision concerned tho constitutionality of a Minnesota State law- establishing a mortgage foreclosure moratorium, it is recognised as having broad ramifications, and is considered one of the most momentous rulings in recent years.
Administration officials interpreted tho decision as an indication that the Court would sympathise with future legislation, notwithstanding its drastic nature, in the event of emergency.
