NEW HONORARY MEMBERS

R.S.A. BADGES PRESENTED

The president, and executive of the1 Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association recently entertained the honorary members of the association. The occasion was the presentation of badges to the newlyelected honorary members, Messrs. CM., Luke, D. McLaren, C. Watson, and Ales. Macintosh. ■ "The K.S.A. owes much to ,its honorary members, who, being iinable to take service in the field, did the next best thing in raising funds to supply comforts for soldiers abroad and to give assistance^ to them when they returned sick in mind or body or wounded," said the presideut. "Enormous euma were raised which, in the case of the Wellington district, have been carefully conserved and disbursed. Today we wish to recognise more especially the work done by Messrs. L. 0. H. Tripp, Macintosh, Luke, Watson, and. McLaren, who not only raised great sums of'money, but also conserved them, and for the past seventeen years have given their personal attention to the distribution of the funds: . "The R.S.A. knows that the funds are well administered, and I wish to state here and now'that it has'the utmost confidence in the new honorary members. The X S A wishes now to thank them for their generosity in devoting their tvme, service, and energy to the work of relief ot distressed soldiers. It has asked them to honour the association by accepting honary membership, which they have done. The honour of asking each to accept the badge of the honorary membership falls to me as president of the R.S.A., and I trust that they will live long to wear it, carrying as it does with it the grateful thanks of the returned soldiers ot Wellington, and their sincere wish for the happiness and well-being of each reClMessrs. Luke, Macintosh, Watson,' And McLaren suitably replied, thanking the as.fociation for the honour conferred,, on them, and wishing the association the best ot luck. .
