HOSING OF GARDENS
LOWER HUTT RESTRICTIONS
The Lower Hutt Borough Council last evening confirmed the decision of. the bylaws committee to immediately prosecute any persons using a hose- from the borough supply, otherwise than as specified in the bylaws. ' The Mayor (Mr. J. "W. Andrews) said he was sure that when the residents in the central part of the borough realised the difficulty under which the residents in the northern area were situated they would be more careful in the use of water when hosing gardens. During the recent dry spell, owing not to a shortage of jivater but to the low pressure caused by the high draw-off, persons in the northern area could not get water to flush lavatories or even in some cases to fill their kettles.
