Rain, however, was confined chiefly to the western portion, of the South Island, the North Island and the eastern districts of the South Island still experiencing warm and dry conditions. During Sunday ,i shallow secondary was centred west of the South Island, and since last night it has crossed the Dominion. Consecmently. rain became fairly general during Sunday and Sunday night, heavy falls occurring at many places in the South Island. Since last night winds have changed to southerly about and south of Cook Strait, while.thence northwards northerner or westerlies still prevail, but by this morning winds had decreased generally in force.. i ..',.
