KAURI GUM BOARD
WINDING-UP MACHINERY
Machinery for the winding up of the Kauri Gum Control Board is provided in the Finance Bill read a first time in the House on Saturday night. Tho legislation which established the board is to be repealed on a date to be fixed by Order in Council, after which the Government will 'take over all tho rights, liabilities, and engagements of the defunct board, with tho Minister of Lands assuming all the functions previously exercised by the controlling body. All moneys standing to tho credit of the late board and all moneys received subsequently are to be payable into a deposit account in the Consolidated Fund. The issue of all kauri gum licences in future will be in the hands of the Commissioner* Of Crown lands.
